Jayalalithaa DA case adjourned to June 1

The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned to June 1 the hearing in the Jayalalithaa disproportionate assets case. A Bench comprising Justice P C Ghose and Amitava Roy will convene a special vacation sitting to hear the case on June 1.

The Bench made it clear that it wants all arguments in the case to be concluded on the same day.

Today Special Public Prosecutor for Karnataka continued arguments. Yesterday he had sought a day’s time to conclude his arguments. The Bench while permitting his request also stated that it would want arguments to be concluded as soon as possible.

The Bench is hearing an appeal filed by Karnataka challenging the acquittal of Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa and three others in the disproportionate assets case….
